Smokefree Housing: CA4Health Poll

In April 2014, the American Lung Association in California and CA4Health commissioned the polling firm Goodwin Simon Strategic Research to conduct a telephone survey of voters living in multi-unit housing from 12 counties across California.  The 12 counties surveyed include Calaveras, Humboldt, Imperial, Madera, Mendocino, Merced, Monterey, Shasta, Siskiyou, Solano, Tulare, and Tuolumne.

This survey shows tenants support protections from secondhand smoke in multi-unit housing – 69% of renters favor a rule to prohibit smoking in outdoor common areas of apartment buildings and 61% favor a ban on smoking inside apartment units.

Below is the Statewide Memo of Survey Results and the Summary of Key Findings for each county.
